If you look at the map as laid out by area Ghostbusters you'll find lots of alleged paranormal activity, some within an hour or two drive from Evansville.

Firstly, everyone knows the story of haunted Willard Library and "The Grey Lady"  10 years ago or so, myself and several 103GBF DJ's spent the night in Willard Library. The ghost must have been sleeping that night, although we weren't. Just tense and anticipating something to occur was enough to keep us awake.  No Ghost activity however. You can watch for yourself, on the Library's Ghost Cams here.

Onto some places you may not be familiar with that town folk claim are haunted, like the Blackfoot Cemetery.  Right up the road in Oakland City, IN. This cemetery goes back to the 1800s. The cemetery is believed to be haunted with reporting of unexplained sounds and lights. The grave is believed to have belonged to a witch, according to local legend.  It's sounding a little Blair Witchy already.

Up next in this brief list of Eerie Indiana Paranormal spots  Is Robin Hill in Mt.Vernon, IN. This historic house, reported to have been part of the Underground Railroad, stands empty and for sale. Having been empty for so long it of course was deemed 'haunted.' Townies have reported seeing shadowy figures and hearing toilets flushing and other noises in the night. Creepy..

I am definitely going to do more installments that point on allegedly haunted place in Indiana.  For now, here's our final story.

The French Lick Springs Hotel. in French Lick, IN is said to be haunted by former owner Thomas Taggart, who lingers around the service elevator as phantom tobacco smells. He is said to operate the elevator from beyond when the place gets busy. He also is said to appear riding a horse in the ballroom or down the halls, and holds ghostly parties that the staff have heard through closed doors when no one else is in the ballroom. I can tell you this, we did a two day radio station employee retreat at French Lick Spring Hotel.  While we didn't observe anything haunted, the decor says a lot. A statue of the Lord of The Underworld is in the lower level, and throughout the hotel, designs of pentagrams were created in the floor titling.  We head a story about how Thomas Taggart's daughter commited suicide by jumping of of her 7th story room in the back of the hotel.  We were shown where they had boarded up the room's window on the outside of the hotel.  It apparently had been that way since the early 1900's.
