There is something to be said for community, and Seattle has long had a rich one when it comes to their musical heritage. Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan has been out on a book tour promoting his How to Be a Man page turner and invited some special guests out for his return home to Seattle at the Neptune Theater.

Pearl Jam's Mike McCready made the trip out to introduce the truly unique pairing of McKagan with another Seattle favorite -- Nirvana's Krist Novoselic. But what made the union even more intriguing is that Novoselic was sporting an accordion upon entering the stage. As the two rockers sat down to play, it soon became clear that Novoselic was rocking Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine" to the delight of the crowd.

At points, audience members can be heard singing along, while there was also a cheer when Novoselic hit the breakdown. Upon completion, Duff kidded his musical partner about him breaking a sweat. "Wow, there's a lot going on there -- two hands," McKagan stated. "You use two hands on the bass, too," Novoselic responded. "I know how hard it is to play bass. Don't tell me."

If you're surprised at Novoselic's accordion skill, it should be noted that he's broken out the instrument to perform on prior occasions as well. One of the most popular appearances occurred last year when he hit a club and delivered a rendition of Lorde's hit single "Royals" for those in attendance.

As for McKagan and his How to Be a Man book, it's out now. He recently premiered an excerpt from the book at Loudwire that can be read here. The book is available via Amazon.
