By now you've likely heard Disturbed's stirring cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence" or seen the captivating video for the track. But the live version of the song has been gaining rave reviews from fans since the group recently debuted it in Fargo, N.D. and now the group has decided to share a new live video for the song.

The newly posted version by the band was recorded Feb. 19 at the Encana Events Centre in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. The group was joined by a local high school music teacher and others, who provided the strings during the song.

As you can see in the clip above, the track begins with David Draiman only accompanied by piano, letting his deep voice start softly before building the mood with increased intensity and musical backing. One by one, guitars, timpani and backing strings enter the arrangement and the crowd responds in full by lighting up the venue with cell phone lights for a truly moving rendition.

Disturbed are now in full touring mode, with a number of treks keeping the band on the road into September of this year. The group released their Immortalized album last year, but opted to let the new disc set with fans for a bit before hitting the road. With fans more familiar, the newer tracks feel like natural fits within their sets. To find out where Disturbed are playing for the remainder of the year, be sure to check out their tour dates here.
