Back 9 years ago, there were two roller derby teams in town.  R.O.S.I (Rollergirls of Southern Indiana) who held their bouts at Swonder Ice Arena.  There was also D.C.R.D (Demolition City Roller Derby).  Over the years, it's come down to just one team in town, and that is D.C.R.D.   They are about to celebrate the team's 9th anniversary and they want you to be part of it.

Join the Demolition City Roller Derby girls this Saturday night as they celebrate their 9th Birthday in style...70s style that is!  DCRD is taking it back to when the shorts were short, the socks were tall, and every thing was groovy! Throw on your favorite leisure suit or bellbottoms and head on out for a far out Bokeh Birthday Bash!

Welcoming new skaters, fans and volunteers to come out, meet the skaters, and have a good time.

Plus, bout ticket giveaways throughout the night, cool D.C.R.D merchandise on sale, and some out of sight cookies to munch on courtesy of Just Rennie's!

The Smoke Rings will be rocking out the stage starting at 9:30pm, while the D.C.R.D girls ROCK the dance Floor! Be there or be square!

I myself have been a small part of the D.C.R.D family for years, having blown the start whistle at several home bouts.  BTW, the team's Home Opener, March 19th, and you can get more details here.
