Stone Sour / Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor visited a paralyzed fan in the hospital to lift his spirits. The fan, Aaron Foley, was hit by an oncoming truck in May after helping a buddy who'd fallen off his motorcycle. He sustained a lot of damage from the hit, including multiple broken ribs, a burst lung, a lacerated liver and getting paralyzed from the waist down.

Foley's family reached out to their local San Diego radio station 105.3 to have Taylor come and visit him in the hospital. He had been a fan of Taylor's output for a while, meeting him three times as a fan and even appearing in Stone Sour's video for "Fabuless." As seen in the video above,Taylor showed up at the hospital, completely taking Foley by surprise.

Taylor's interactions with Foley are genuinely very sweet. You can tell he cares about what happened and he is incredibly talkative about anything that Foley wants to know. During their conversation, Foley asks Corey about the most personally significant song he wrote, and gets an honest answer about how songs rotate in and out of pertinence. Taylor goes onto explain how he came back to "Zzyzx Rd." and how that captures feelings of being away from home. Watch Corey Taylor visit Aaron Foley in the hospital in the video above. All in all, it's been a pretty strange week for Taylor, so it's cool to see him taking a quiet moment with a fan here. Earlier this week, Taylor received flak from Nickelback's Chad Kroeger in a recent interview, where Kroeger flung barbs, claiming Stone Sour were "trying to be Nickelback." He added he’d never heard a hit song from any of Taylor’s bands, and that, “[Slipknot] had to put on masks and jump around. How good can your music be if you’ve got to beat each other up onstage, throw up in your own masks every night?”

Taylor would eventually respond to Kroeger’s comments in an interview with radio station 98 KUPD. He advised Kroeger to “curl up in bed with your Hello Kitty pillow and shut up.” He continued, “I was so cued up to say some stuff about him, and then I just started reading all the comments online. I don’t have to say a damn thing. He is not a liked person. You can run your mouth all you want. All I know is I’ve been voted ‘Sexiest Dude In Rock’ wearing a mask. You’ve been voted ‘Ugliest Dude In Rock’ twice without one. Stick that up your ass.”
