There is no doubt one of the biggest perks of living in Evansville is the Ohio River.  It's a source of recreation and of course commerce.  Being on the Ohio River is the reason Evansville ever became a community in the first place.  Sometimes though, we need to work towards keeping our natural resource's banks from litter and junk.  Just yesterday, we brought you a story about needles washing up on the shores of the Ohio near Evansville. You won't have to touch any of that nasty junk, but it's even more reason to come help out during this Saturday's annual River Sweep. The cleanup area extends the entire length of the Ohio River, from Pennsylvania to Illinois.  The sweep is happening from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. this Saturday. If you would like to volunteer, just show up at the Four Freedoms Monument on Riverside drive.  All trash bags and gloves will be provided.  Help out if you can.  It takes more than a few to do the job of many..
