Cardinals Player Has Rib Removed, Gives It To His Child

It might seem that your kids ask for a lot. But at least they're not asking for surgically removed parts of your body, like that Damien kid from The Omen.

St. Louis Cardinals player Chris Carpenter had surgery to alleviate pressure building up on his pitching arm. Doctors removed one of his ribs as part of the procedure.

When Carpenter asked his daughter what she wanted him to bring back from the hospital, she asked for his rib. Carpenter told this story during an interview with Fox Sports Midwest.  Doctors agreed to let him come home with the rib.

"I’m sure we’ll do something with it … Make a necklace or bracelets or something. We haven’t figured that out yet," Carpenter said.
