On that subject, my overall feeling is 'no', the Amphiteatre will never become a music venue again.  I'm an optimist, but I've learned enough info over the past two years that it would take approx. 8 million to renovate the venue.  My utmost wish that it not be the future for the Amphitheatre.  I'd love to see vibrant again.  Take into consideration my point of view when I describe my love o Mesker. I organized 7 Mother Mesker's Homemade Jams in the 90's.  I used all local bands that played original music and charged $1.03 admission (station frequency).  That was back when the Parks Dept managed the venue.  Now it's owned by the zoo, it's a good bet it will become part of the zoo in years to come. There was an article posted by CBS 44 that's worth reading.  Not all residents want to revive Mesker.  Read about that here.

I'm also a co-administrator of the Save Mesker Amphitheatre Facebook page which you can check out here. To quote from our page, a bit of history and some early photos and renditions of the venue.

Mesker Amphitheatre is a historic 8,500-seat amphitheater, located in Evansville, Indiana, United States. It contains 5,500 chairback seats and 3,000 lawn seats and has recently been shut down until infrastructure upgrades are made.

As you can see in the photos, it has no seats, not much of anything.  I, in my heart believe it's wishful thinking that this piece of Evansville history and can be revived.

Like our page.  That's the best we can do for now.  Make some noise.  Also heck out my interview with the Mayor from last year.  We spoke about Mesker and he gives his take.
