When I grew up, most notably in the 70's, Haynie's Corner was the part of town where the 'hippies' lived.  I remember being in like 3rd grade, and going over to a classmate named John's house down around the Washington Ave and 2nd st area.  I recall being amazed at the wild, crazy colorful people.  It's far removed from the 1970's but some of the hippies grew up, stayed in the area and helped to form the Haynie's Corner Arts Discrict, along with an influx of a younger generation of artsy type creative folk. One spot that has occupied space and that area and is now expanding due to it's popularity is the Bokeh Lounge.  Here's a quote from their Facebook eveet page

For months, we have been tirelessly working to create a more spacious yet equally quaint neighborhood lounge to enjoy with friends!
