Shinedown has been one of my favorite bands for the past decade. I've enjoyed everything they've done since their 2003 debut. They have been to Evansville several times, and I've been lucky enough to meet them each time, and I can't wait for that opportunity on May 3rd!

Shinedown has put out a ton of great music over the years and has had many radio hits. So much great music, but what is my favorite? That's a tough one to answer. Honestly, there is no song that immediately jumps to the front of my mind. I pretty much like 'em all. But for the sake of this blog, I made myself narrow it down to the top five. Actually it's the top six...I added a bonus song/video.

Take a look and let me know what you think. What song(s) did I leave out? What are your favorites?

5. I'll Follow You

This one is quite the departure from the other songs on my list, but I had to include it. I like to rock out as much as the next guy...but I'm a fan off all genres of music. Most of all I really appreciate good vocals, and Brent kills it on this one. I was instantly a fan of the bluesy, soulful sound.

4. Cut The Cord

If I do a list like this five years from now, this song might be at the top of the list. For now, it's just a bit young to put in the top spot. This song and video were a great way to introduce Shinedown's latest album. It's loud, heavy, anthemic and awesome!

3. If You Only Knew

Certainly not one of Shinedown's heaviest songs, but definitely one of their best. Dare I say it's pretty. A song that once again features great vocals from Brent, and this time a nice addition of some strings. It's just a really well done rock song.

2. Save Me

It's hard to believe that this song is a decade old. Maybe that's one reason it ended up on my list - for nostalgia reasons. You can find this one on Shinedown's 2005 album Us and Them.

1. Bully

This was one of many great songs from Shinedown's 2012 Amaryllis album. It features everything I look for in a song - great music, great vocals, a great hook and a great message. I usually don't worry much about song lyrics...I'm usually more interested in how a song sounds and not what it has to say. But I dig what "Bully" has to say. This song makes me feel something. Isn't that why we love music?

Bonus - Enemies

This is another great song from the Amaryllis album, and very easily could have made my top five...but I wanted to include it because I love the video so much. I bet the guys had a blast making this one. I know it was a blast to watch!

You can see SHINEDOWN in concert along with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and P.O.D. on May 3rd at the Ford Center. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 5th at 10am at all Ticketmaster locations including the Ford Center box office.
