Southern rockers Black Stone Cherry were gearing up to set sail on the 2012 ShipRocked cruise in late November but the band just announced that they will have to stay on solid ground instead due to some pretty exciting news for lead singer Chris Robertson.

Robertson is expecting a new son, with his wife due on Nov. 25. The ShipRocked cruise is scheduled for Nov. 27 – Dec. 1 cutting things very close if baby Robertson enters the world a little late, forcing the band to withdraw from the event. Robertson posted the following message to fans:

“I regret to inform you that Black Stone Cherry will not be able to be a part of this year’s ShipRocked Cruise. I have received a blessing and my son will be born on November 25th, if everything goes to plan. The due date being so close to the date of the cruise has caused us to have to cancel our performances. I hate it, but with our band and our friend Alan we all live ‘family first’. I hope you all understand. And hope to see you on ShipRocked 2013!!”

Although Black Stone Cherry will be missed, ShipRocked still boasts a stacked deck of rock artists from Godsmack, Korn and Five Finger Death Punch to Sevendust, In This Moment and P.O.D. Find out more here.
