Before I die, I want to _____________.

Project Reveal wants to help Evansville REVEAL something about themselves.

Saturday, the non-profit organization is bringing the community a movement that has gained global attention -- the "Before I Die" wall.

This participatory public art project invites people to share their personal aspirations in public and to reflect on why they aren't going after them.

This concept gained popularity after it was featured in Candy Chang's TED Talk. Chang created the chalk wall inviting people to fill in what they want to do before they die on abandoned house in her New Orleans neighborhood.

The wall quickly filled up with intriguing responses and gained global attention. Thanks to passionate people around the world, over 1,000 Before I Die walls have now been created in over 70 countries, including Iraq, China, Brazil, Kazakhstan and South Africa.

And now Project Reveal is adding Evansville to this list of communities.

We hope that by revealing the community’s longings, anxieties, joys and struggles, this wall will help explore how public space can cultivate self-examination and empathy among neighbors and compassionately prepare us for death and grief.

Project Reveal is using this wall as apart of the "Life Transformation" episode of season two of their television series on PBS to air early next year.
The wall we will be at the Franklin Street Dickens Bazaar from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12. We encourage the community to participate and be a part of this global movement.
