Fans of the Batman: Arkham trilogy are in for a treat now that a Warner Bros. Animation rep claimed an Arkham-oriented animated film is on the way.

According to Comic Book Resources, James Tucker, a producer for Warner Bros. Animation who has produced numerous animated DC features, has announced an Arkham-based, Batman animated movie is on the way. In the interview, Tucker claimed that Warner Bros. Animation is set on producing three DC animated features a year, with two of them being Justice League titles for this year.

“In 2014, the third scheduled animated feature is ‘Batman: Assault on Arkham,’ which takes place in the world of the massively popular ‘Batman: Arkham’ video games,” Tucker said. This is good news for fans of the Bat, especially given Warner Bros. Animation’s history of making quality animated Batman films.

Unfortunately, we have doubts as to Kevin Conroy’s inclusion in the Arkham film as the infamous voice of the Bat, considering that Conroy has been absent from most of Warner Bros. Animation’s Batman films. The same can be said of Mark Hamill, who was known for playing the voice of The Joker for many years.

A notable Joker replacement in one of Warner Bros.’ animated movies was John DiMaggio, the voice of Marcus Fenix from the Gears of War series. The Batman in Arkham: Origins was voiced by Roger Craig Smith, who will be voicing Sonic the Hedgehog in the upcoming Sonic Boom. Joker, was of course, played by Troy Baker (Joel in The Last of Us) in Origins.

Both Hamill and Conroy’s voices were notably absent for Batman: Arkham Origins, which was expected considering how early the story appears in Batman’s timeline. Conroy is rumored to be on board for the next major Arkham title, while Hamill has claimed that he wants to retire playing Mr. J’s voice, believing that the fans might get sick of him. We beg to differ, Mr. Skywalker.
