Cinemax After Dark - or Skinemax, as it's more widely known - is a block of "adult programming" broadcast on Cinemax after midnight. Starting in 1984, the programming block became a staple of teenagers in the late-80s/early-90s, who grew up on sneaking downstairs while their parents were sleeping to catch some skin (not that we know from experience...).
Well, the good times are about to come to a close as Cinemax looks to rebrand, leaving Skinemax in the dust.
If you're one of the people who think Batfleck is a bad thing (for the record, we disagree), just remember to tell yourself, it could've been worse. Back in 2007, pre-production began on a 'Justice League' movie that would've cast D.J. Cotrona as Superman, rapper Common as Green Lantern and Armie Hammer as Batman, with Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' trilogy never happening.
The film never happened, for various reasons, but now if you're curious what a 'Justice League' movie could've looked like, you can read the script for the movie right now. (Warning: you'll have a newfound appreciation of 'Avengers,' the 'Dark Knight' and 'Man of Steel' after reading this.)
We've heard rumblings of the Sinister Six in future 'Amazing Spider-Man' movies, a plan that would theoretically bring back villains from the first film and the upcoming 'Amazing Spider-Man 2.' Now, we seemingly have some confirmation of that plan as Paul Giamatti has confirmed that he will return as The Rhino in 'Amazing Spider-Man 3.'
Tom Clancy, the hugely successful and prolific author behind the Jack Ryan series of books and multiple video game franchises, died at a hospital last night in Baltimore at the age of 66. His publisher confirmed the news to the New York Times but no cause of death has been announced.
Up until now, almost every actor in Hollywood has been asked for their reaction on Ben Affleck being cast as Batman in 'Batman vs. Superman' (as if their opinion mattered at all), when the one person we wanted to hear from - Affleck himself - has stayed completely silent.
Until now. Affleck appeared on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' last night and talked about why he wanted to star as Batman, his reaction to the internet freak out and why his radio silence wasn't an accident.
If you had brought up the idea of a 'World War Z 2' to Brad Pitt and Paramount Pictures just about six months ago, they may have laughed you out of the room. The zombie movie had a famously difficult production with costly reshoots leaving many Hollywood insiders thinking 'World War Z' was going to be a massive failure. But then the film hit theaters, it turned out to be a pretty good movie and the movie has made over $200 million to date. So, who's laughing now? Certainly not Brad Pitt who says they have "so many ideas" when it comes to prepping the inevitable 'World War Z 2.'
Perhaps all work and no play really does make Jack a dull boy.
3-time Oscar-winning actor Jack Nicholson has quietly retired from acting according to a new report citing sources close to the 76-year-old actor. The actor reportedly suffering from memory loss and has no further plans to appear in any more movies.
With filming on 'Star Wars: Episode 7' scheduled to begin in just about four months, casting on the new movie is well underway. And, after many rumors and much conjecture, we've got one more rumor to add to the pile. Director J.J. Abrams, who likes to return to work with some of the same actors, has brought a friend from the 'Star Trek' universe with him: Benedict Cumberbatch is rumored to star in 'Star Wars: Episode 7.'
A Stefon movie will likely never happen; Bill Hader has said as much himself. But, there was a time, back when Hader was still at 'Saturday Night Live,' that a Stefon movie almost did happen and a few scenes were actually written. Could it have actually worked?
Just as recently as earlier this year, Matt Damon was talking that a return to the 'Bourne' franchise that turned him into an A-list action star was highly unlikely. But, this is Hollywood and sometimes what is completely unlikely one day (like Ben Affleck as Batman), becomes a reality the next. And so, Matt Damon is in negotiations to return for another 'Bourne' film along with 'Bourne Ultimatum' director Paul Greengrass.
With 'Captain America 2' about to reveal its first footage at Comic-Con 2013, the marketing campaign is heating up. Just earlier this week we got our first look at the film's poster and today, we get a new look at some 'Captain America' concept art, highlighting what looks to be the climactic battle in the film between Cap and his former sidekick, and current nemesis, The Winter Soldier.
Earlier this week, we got word that 'Terminator 5' would set up shop at Paramount Pictures, a new home for the franchise after two lackluster films with Warner Bros. But what did that actually mean for the movie? Sure, it had a new home, but does that actually get us closer to seeing 'Terminator 5' in theaters? It turns out it does. Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke out today, confirmed his involvement in 'Terminator 5' and said filming on the sequel is set to begin in January, 2014.
