'Captain Planet and the Planeteers' was a mildly popular, environmentally-friendly cartoon that ran from 1990 through 1996. And like so many childhood favorites it is being shopped around as a possible new movie franchise. Sony has taken the bait, and are working on turning the cartoon into a feature length film.
