Flyleaf singer Lacey Sturm is a pint-sized powerhouse and she flails about in the dark, foreboding and apocalyptic video for ‘Heavy Prey.’ Sturm lent her room-filling voice to Geno Lenardo’s song, which appears on the soundtrack to ‘Underworld Awakening,’ the fourth film in the action franchise.
Call it a comeback of a comeback! After Alice in Chains‘ 2009 effort ‘Black Gives Way to Blue’ landed Grammy nominations and enjoyed healthy sales amid the debut of new singer William Duvall, who replaced the late, great Layne Staley, the band is currently writing new material and working on the follow up. AIC should enter the studio early this year.

The group is already writing its third album and is possibly eyeing a 2013 release.
Don’t mess with James Hetfield when he’s on vacation and trying to ride a moped with his son. We already know that the Metallica frontman rocks, but now he throws ‘em, too! Hetfield and his family retreated to Punta del Este, Uruguay to celebrate the Christmas holiday and enjoy a little R&R. He made a lot of valid points and we give him credit for not getting frustrated at Twitter character limits to keep going! Because like a mad ‘n’ metallic Energizer bunny, that’s just what he did!
Things are thrilling in the Motley Crue camp, as the band gears up for the first-ever rock band residency in Las Vegas. However, despite all the hoopla and history making coinciding with the Feb. 3-19 stay in Sin City, singer Vince Neil said he is considering splitting from the band after the Vegas shows wrap.
Sunset Strip dwellers Steel Panther have scored a plum hometown gig. The delightfully throwback-ish band will open for Guns N’ Roses at the Forum in Los Angeles tomorrow, Dec. 21. The tongue-in-cheek glam revivalists just wrapped a U.K. trek with Motley Crue and Def Leppard and will cap off a stellar 2011 with this GN’R gig.
The hard rock scene’s most beloved enigmatic rockers -that’d be Tool– are gearing up to hit the road next month on a North American trek. Since Tool going on tour is not exactly a common occurrence, fan anticipation is at an all time high.
