Boy, that Adi Shankar sure doesn’t waste time. Just weeks after we saw an official voice cast and trailer for an animated Netflix Castlevania, the director announces work on another video game project, that of an anime Assassin’s Creed TV series.

Shankar himself confirmed the news over Facebook, albeit without specifying where or when the new anime series would debut. Presumably, Shankar’s project is the same Assassin’s Creed TV series Ubisoft was said to be working on months back, though no official statement has been released:

Back in March, franchise content head Aymar Azaizia suggested a TV take on the video game franchise was in the works, claiming “It’s like the movie guys, we will take our time to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of.” The report also pointed back to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirming a Netflix TV series in development last year, though that project was never confirmed to be Assassin’s Creed. Ubisoft is also working on video game movies based on Splinter Cell, and The Division.

We’ll see what Ubisoft has to say about Adi Shankar’s Assassin’s Creed TV series, but what should we hope for in the meantime?
