Going back to school sucks for kids but high school football makes it totally worth it. There are some pretty freakin' awesome football players coming out of the tri-state area and we want to honor the best of the best.

Each week, we'll check out the top five performances from the past week and open up voting for you to choose your favorite player as the 103GBF High School 'Stud of the Gridiron.'

Vote for your favorite player now until 3 p.m. Friday, when we'll announce the winner in voting.

It starts up all over again next Monday.  If you vote too often the poll mechanism will set up a 'cool down' mode for you, keeping you from voting for an hour.

Here are the Studs from last Friday:

  • Tias Stewart Senior running back from Central amassed totaled 133 yards and three scores on only eight carries
  • Reitz QB Reid Mahan finished 12-for-20 passing for 154 yards and two touchdowns with the one interception.
  • Elizjah Harvey Running Back from Harrison rushed for 248 yards and four touchdowns
  • Mater Dei Junior running back Chase Rheinlander rushed for 253 yards on only 13 carries and scored five times
  • Cage Street of North tallied 20 tackles for North, including five for loss and one sack. He also scrambled 18 yards on a fake punt near the end of the game to help run out the clock.
