Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Duff McKagan and others are among the musicians and celebrities that are joining forces this month to make sure bears can still poop in the forest. (Feel free to take a moment to let that sentence soak in.) While the campaign has a humorous name and slant -- it’s called "Let a Bear Sh!t in the Woods" -- it’s aim is a serious one: to end the painful and invasive technique of extracting bile from bears on the numerous bear bile farms in China and Vietnam.

Kiedis is just one of the celebrities who has come forward to shoot a humorous clip to help spread the word about the bile extraction practices. We've embedded his teaser clip above, wherein Kiedis jokingly talks about “moon bear raves.” A moon bear is a type of bear and they, along with sun bears and brown bears, are the most popular types on these farms.

Jimmy Page, Ricky Gervais, Olivia Newton John and Steve-O are also among those supporting the campaign and on May 13 we’ll get to see tongue-and-cheek photos and videos from all of the celebrities mentioned, with their hope of helping to stop this practice.

According to Animals Asia, more than 12,000 bears are held on bile farms in China and Vietnam and the animals are milked for their bile, which is then used in traditional medicine. On these farms, bears are kept in small cages and starved and are then milked, a process that is reportedly painful and invasive.
