It hasn't happened yet, but it's almost inevitable.

Since Adam Vinatieri extended his contract with the Colts for one more year, this means he's going to score more points.

And you might be thinking "Yeah. No duh. That's how football works."

Yeah, I know. But THESE POINTS are KIND OF A BIG DEAL.

The current standings for most points in NFL history are as follows:

1. Morten Andersen   2,544
2. Adam Vinatieri   2,487
3. Gary Anderson   2,434

Which means Adam Vinatieri is about to set some new goals.

You see, all he has to do is score a MINIMUM of 58 points to have the new record and be number 1. And considering he scored 109 points last season, that first place title is practically his.

As long as he doesn't get injured (*crosses fingers and knocks on all the wood*) he will have the most points scored by a single player in NFL history AND a new all time record.

So here's a super early congratulations to Adam Vinatieri!
