A Night At The Ballpark With Former Cardinal Jack Clark!

The Radiation Centers of Evansville Cancer Center and Deaconess Chancellor Center and Therapy Associates will host its 10th annual men’s health and prostate cancer awareness program, “A Night at the Ballpark with St. Louis Cardinals Jack “The Ripper” Clark,” on Wednesday, August 10th. Prior to and after the Evansville Otters game at Bosse Field, Clark will sign autographs for those in attendance as well as discuss his own personal experience with cancer.

While Jack Clark is not a prostate cancer survivor, the event holds special meaning to him having cared for and lost his father to colon cancer. His father, described by Clark as “old school,” never was screened for colon and prostate cancers which may have saved his life. As a result of his father’s cancer battle, he wants to emphasize to all men the importance of annual prostate cancer screenings. “It is our responsibility to ensure that our families, friends, loved ones and most importantly ourselves, receive an annual prostate cancer screenings because it may very well save our lives,” said Clark. “We can beat prostate cancer by simply putting our pride aside and doing what is best for our health.”

Open to the public, the event will include Clark sharing his own personal experience with cancer, discussing the importance of early detection through annual prostate cancer screenings, signing autographs, and throwing out the first pitch. Following the game, those in attendance will be treated to a 30-minute fireworks show. All proceeds from the event will go to Cancer Care Options, Inc., a not for profit organization founded by Al Korba, M.D., former medical director of Evansville Cancer Center, which aids cancer patients in the Tri-State area who cannot afford cancer medications.
