The Evansville Police Department not only announces a record collection of donations after the 2nd annual Dream Bigger Weekend, but the addition of a third school who's students will have the opportunity at a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Held August 26th, 27th, and 28th on the lot of Bennett Motors at the corner of Diamond and Heidelbach Avenues on Evansville's north side, the goal of the Dream Bigger Weekend was to help fund a trip to Walt Disney World for a select group of low-income students from Glenwood Academy and Cedar Hall Elementary Schools who have maintained a strong grade point average, and stayed out of trouble. Thanks to the generosity of the Tri-State, select students from McGary Middle School will also be included in the trip.

When all was said and done after the three day event, $44,000 was raised to fund the five day trip. A total that will be matched by Bennett Motors and Audubon Chrysler owner, Larry Bennett.

As noted in the EPD's Facebook post below, the now $88,000 total will be split evenly between funding the trip to Orlando, and Media Ministries who will use they're portion to distribute 1,000 food baskets to families in need this upcoming holiday season.
