Don O’Neal is a U.S. Army soldier (ret.) and drag racer with more than 22 years of service in the United States Army and 18 years of experience as a professional driver.

O’Neal started racing in 1992 after his dad, a devout racing fan and Vietnam Veteran, passed away. In 2001, he started racing professionally and drove the U.S. Army dragster from 2004 – 2012. In 2010, O’Neal made it to the final round at the U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis.

O’Neal represents JBM Motorsports based in Evansville, IN. This summer, he will race the 2009 Mullis Salute Our Troops Dragster in National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and Lucas Oil Racing events. O’Neal and his dragster will also travel throughout the Southeast to recognize military personnel and their families while helping to raise funds for military support organizations as part of the Kangaroo Express Salute Our Troops campaign.

If you have a family member who is currently deployed on active service, let us know, we’d love to feature them as the next 103GBF Hometown Hero!  Send me a message at sandman@103gbfrocks.com
