Going back to school sucks for kids but high school football makes it totally worth it. There are some pretty freakin' awesome football players coming out of the tri-state area and we want to honor the best of the best.

Each week, we'll check out the top five performances from the past week and open up voting for you to choose your favorite player as the 103GBF High School 'Stud of the Gridiron.'

Vote for your favorite player now until 3 p.m. Friday, when we'll announce the winner in voting.

It starts up all over again next Monday.  If you vote too often the poll mechanism will set up a 'cool down' mode for you, keeping you from voting for an hour.

Here are the Studs from last Friday:

  • Trevor Kennard RB for Mt.Carmel ran 27 times for 319 yards and three touchdowns, while also returning an interception 89 yards for a touchdown as his team beat Princeton
  • Kenyon Irvin RB for Memorial finished with 147 yards on 19 carries as the game's leading rusher as the Tigers beat the Mater Dei Wildcats in overtime
  • Dayne Keller QB for Castle threw for five touchdowns in the first half to lead the charge offensively as Castle crushed Bosse
